Literature Text
We plant our trees today
So with time they will rise above our heads one day
Our trees absorb carbon monoxide from the air
Beloved trees they are that make clean oxygen so fair
It is easy to forget with all the smog and the pollution
The importance of a tree within societies internal revolutions
Is often lost within the hustle
Or straight up left behind in the bustle
The plight of our trees cut down faster than they can grow up
Deforestation is still one of societies many hiccups
For us trees make the air that we breath often without for them thought
But for so many things we do not realize even that is not all that is wrought
They grow from the mulch of other dead plants
They provide shelter for birds, squirrels, and ants
Beneath them we might find depending on the kind
A potatoes in the roots or a mushroom growing between roots twine
So many trees exist in the world
Each one of them precious from the time that they've unfurled
For each tree be they vast or not
Comes from but a seed so tiny a dot
Yet the effect of a tree is even greater than the biggest
Without them soil becomes unstable and away washes the richest
Things like tornado alley come from the trees absence where once they were many
Where the wind was once balanced by the forest now granting no mercy to any
So the importance of planting trees is much more than we could know
But the world without trees we must all remember by human hands remains our woe
For our world is so very fragile more so than we can see
For the loss is so much greater when the world has lost her trees
Nutrients in the soil wash away and we wouldn't notice but a sound
So many habitats disappear and full circle things will come around
For a world without trees would one day be absent of life
And it is easy to forget within our hands we hold the knife
Greed can be powerful to help so many to forget
It is up to us to remember that to trees we owe a debt
So with time they will rise above our heads one day
Our trees absorb carbon monoxide from the air
Beloved trees they are that make clean oxygen so fair
